Republican literary competition “Save Lena River”, dedicated to ecological date – the Day of the Lena River (July 2) in Yakutia and the Year of Russian literature.
The competition is organized in the framework of the IX Republican Ecological Action “Nature and we”, held under the patronage of the Government of RS (Y) and international non-governmental organization “The Northern Forum”, pursuant to Presidential Decree “On establishment of the Day of the Lena River in the Republic of Sakha (Yakutia).
“The competition is held in order to preserve the unique natural features of the Lena River, and promote the formation of a national brand image based on the Lena River.
Organizer Ministry of Nature Protection of the Republic together with the Ministry of Culture and Spiritual Development of Sakha (Yakutia), the public association “Union of Journalists RS (I),” the Union of Writers of Sakha (Yakutia).
Lena – one of the greatest rivers in the world. The mighty power, giving life to the vast territory and supplying fresh drinking water and nine ulus and Yakutsk. Understanding the importance of ecological purity of the Lena River, Ministry of Natural Resources of Sakha (Yakutia) calls through literary creativity to draw attention to the preservation of the main natural source of the country.
Bidders may be at least 18 years old and want to show caring and attentive attitude to nature through literary creation.
The contest works are accepted decorated with drawings, illustrations for the following categories: poetry, short stories, fairy tales.
Works are available in hard copy from the electronic version of the application, not exceeding three pages of printed text (the size – 14, line spacing – 1, font Times New Roman).
The jury, consisting of representatives of the media, professionals working in the arts, environmental specialists will consider the following: Disclosure of the contest theme, artistic expression, originality in the presentation of the material, etc.
The winners are awarded with diplomas 1, 2, 3 places and prizes that will be awarded on the day of the Lena River – July 2, held in the framework of the republican ecological action “Nature and Us”.
After the contest, the works remain in the fund of the Ministry of Nature Protection of Sakha (Yakutia) with the right of free use in publications with attribution.
