Big River: Part 6 – Ura river and mountain Ebe-Tas

Ura river and mountain Ebe-Tas

Approximately one and a half hundreds of kilometers below Lensk between small population centers muddy and Kamenka, in the left bank of the Lena flows is small, but with a great name – a river of Ura. And at the confluence of the rivers ur on its right bank, stands a remarkable limestone rock, which here is called Bell. This is a place I previously noted on the map as a promising advance and planned operating dnёvku here. And it did, really pretty place, and the weather relatively lucky. Although only when it came, the weather was overcast, but the same day came to a joyful and sunny state, so wanted to scream – Ura! No wonder all the same in the name of the river.

This is where I see the mouth of the river Ur, in the bottom of the frame oxbow lake, and in the background Kolokol Rock.

At the bottom of the post, as always there is a map of the area on the map and you can see a large island above the mouth of the river Ura. That’s just now we are in the lowest part of the island, at its end, on the approach to the site. Weather overcast yet.

Just below the island on the right bank of the Lena too steep cliffs.

Well, back to Lena. That I’m not a girl, it’s about the river, one of the largest and most powerful not only in Russia but also in the world. I recall that in 2011, the year this river I had photo expedition. Now just a few scattered scenes shot in the alloy in the interval from the mouth of the Small Pathom and a little not reaching Olekminsk.

For a while we sailed in complete haze of bluish color. This taiga fires, the scourge of all forest edges spoiled us all the photographic texture. A place of slaughter occurred, but there was no sense to stop.

Somewhere for the night we stayed in the house. As usual, the house was empty, but open. Although it is generally taiga on a large river is not always adhered to.

In the hut we happily spent the night and in the morning we descended to the guests, father and son. We saw them yesterday on the banks engaged in fishing, a little above the hut. Initially guests were cautious reacted to the lenses, and then they even liked it, especially when they saw themselves on the screen.

One day there was a very strong headwind, and then the rain started. When they saw the village on the coast, without doubt moored to the shore. The village was already uninhabitable. We took the river closest to the empty house, however, without the stove, where it spent the night. The next morning the weather really change and we still found a few locals. The village is called Kudu-Byas.

That’s how they live there and lead a small farm, and instead of the TV binoculars. Sitting on the bank, watching the river, watching who, where and what floats. I asked why not move to a large village on the opposite bank. Explained that vain there are too many people.

In an empty hut already uninhabited village Kudu-Byas we successfully waited bad weather and the next, already sunny day, went further. But that day is not gone, only some six kilometers. No, nothing happened, just on the right bank sported a rather remarkable mountain which was no way to miss. I had to do there poludnёvku. There just need a little shoot. And, of course, the main angles here at the top. So I had to climb up a couple of times on this Gorushko. For the first time, immediately stopped as soon as at its foot, and a second time in the evening. This mountain conspicuous on the map marked as Ebe-Tac, as far as I know Yakut means mountain-grandmother. From here to Olekminsk less than forty kilometers.

In a grove near the mountain, I also walked and found here a few gravestones, which knocked out the inscription on a more old-Russian. If you can, then partly read. Year, at least 1885 nd is indicated, or the 83 nd.
