The article is devoted to the history of development of the Irkutsk-Yakutsk post road, trailing portion tract St. Petersburg – Okhotsk.
Establishment of the tract is associated with the activities of the Second Kamchatka expedition and was led by V. Bering. Irkutsk-Yakutsk postal route played a leading role in the system of Railways North-Eastern Siberia and Russian relations with America in the XVIII – XIX centuries.
