In the republic, the number of cases of approaching settlements and the threat to life and health of people from the brown bear are increasing every year.

Annually, the Ministry of Ecology, Nature Management and Forestry of the Republic of Sakha (Yakutia) on the receipt of signals promptly makes decisions on the regulation of the number of brown bears.

During the past 2017, 145 decisions were made, 42 bears were mined. Three attacks were recorded on humans, 25 heads of cattle, 43 horses, 530 domestic deer were affected by the taiga owner’s clutches.

To date, 9 bears have already been mined, which pose a threat to humans and the livestock population. Recall, clubfooted last week for two days besieged the territory of the Neryungri hospital.

As experts note, in recent years there has been a tendency to increase the number of brown bears. The reasons for this are a shortage due to the shortage of personnel hunters, the high cost of a tax charge for the issuance of permits for the production of brown bears, migration from neighboring regions due to fires, improved food supply and high fertility.
