Participants of historical and geographical expedition “Baikal-Alaska” headed by Anatoly Kazakevich arrived in the capital of the Republic of Irkutsk on an inflatable trimaran. The first leg of the trip is completed.
They stated at the press conference, which was held June 14 in the national media center.
“Trimaran – a large vessel, 13 meters long and 6 meters wide. We floated with an average speed of 20 km / h, it is varied depending on the wind. In the nearest plans – to put the sailing equipment, new engine and test at Baikal in storm conditions “, — said the technical organizer Roman Neudachin.
According to the members of the expedition, they started from Irkutsk, visited the island of Olkhon, followed by transfer to Ust-Kut, and two-week transition to Yakutsk on the Lena River. The second stage will take place in August. They come out in the Sea of Okhotsk and visit the Kurile Islands. The purpose of the third, final, stage, which will be held next year, would be Alaska. The total budget of the expedition – about 12 million rubles.
“The team for the passage way from the lake to Alaska will be formed of 6-8 people – a crew and technical staff. Perhaps its members will change the course of the following because of the great length of the route “, — stated Anatoly Kazakevich.
The only woman on the expedition, the traveler Maria Avdeeva argues that the train passes the interesting and comfortable. “I was able to take part in the expedition, winning a radio contest “Finder”, thanks to the organizers for having taken me with you!” — she thanked.
Anomalous cases and meetings with sorcerers said team member Daniil Golubev. “One day we met a man who claimed that he was a sorcerer, an herbalist, and reached the foot of Lake Baikal”, — the musician said. Inspired by the beautiful nature, Daniel wrote the song “My Motherland”.
